Andhra Pradesh Gears Up for Crucial Rural Elections
The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission announced elections for MPTCs, ZPTCs, and Gram Panchayats slated for August 10 and 12. The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has announced plans to hold elections for Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs), Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs), and Gram Panchayats on August 10 and 12.
The notification was issued by APSEC Secretary GV Sai Prasad, detailing that MPTC elections will occur in several districts including Chittoor and Palnadu, while ZPTC elections are set for YSR Kadapa district, among others. Gram Panchayat elections are scheduled for Prakasam and East Godavari districts.
Nominations are open from July 30 to August 1, with a final list of candidates confirmed on August 5. Voting for Gram Panchayats and MPTC/ZPTCs will be held on separate dates, with counting beginning on August 14. The Model Code of Conduct applies from July 28 in designated areas.
