A staged robbery targeting over Rs 6 lakh was unraveled by Delhi police following the arrest of three individuals, one of whom was a shop employee. Authorities announced on Tuesday that the suspect trio included Rahul, a 24-year-old cash collector, alongside Dharmender alias Aryan, 22, and Rishu Verma, 26.
The incident unfolded on July 26 when Rahul reported a robbery at gunpoint near Ishwar Bhawan. However, inconsistencies in his statement and evidence uncovered through scanning over 100 CCTV cameras indicated that the robbery was faked, leading police to question him further.
Rahul admitted to orchestrating the event with accomplices to misappropriate company funds. The perpetrators were apprehended in Uttar Pradesh, and police retrieved a substantial portion of the stolen cash, along with items purchased using the funds, revealing an ultimately ill-fated attempt to deceive.
