The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Chauhan has delivered a severe verdict, sentencing 13 individuals to rigorous life imprisonment for their roles in the 2016 murder of liquor businessman Manish Kumar, known as Pappu. This verdict concluded a gangwar case that captured significant public attention.
The police revealed that the conviction was based on compelling evidence and witness testimonies. Manish, who was the elder brother of imprisoned gangster Binder Gujjar, was attacked and killed when he went to pick up cash from his liquor stores on October 18, 2016. His father, Karan Singh, claimed the murder resulted from an old rivalry.
Among the convicted are Rahul Pandit, Sachin alias Billu, Sombir alias Chatri alias Nanha from Rohtak district, Deepak and Monu from Kansala, and several others, including brothers of a slain gangster. Each convict received a life sentence and fines up to Rs 50,000, marking a significant legal conclusion to the four-year-old case.
