Tax Official Suspended Over Sexual Harassment Allegations in Uttar Pradesh

A deputy commissioner of the Uttar Pradesh State Tax Department has been suspended following serious allegations of sexual harassment, according to officials.
Kamlesh Kumar Pandey, stationed in the Mathura Division, faces disciplinary actions after initial findings suggested his involvement in repeated inappropriate conduct towards a subordinate. The State Tax Department formally suspended Pandey under established disciplinary rules of 1999.
Simultaneously, six committee members, charged with investigating the harassment allegations, are under scrutiny for supposedly attempting to cover up the incident. Special Secretary Kritika Jyotsna will lead the inquiry into the accusations against Pandey.
