Nadda Critiques Opposition's Stance on Pakistan Post-Pahalgam Attack

On Wednesday, J P Nadda, Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, launched a scathing critique on the Opposition, accusing it of 'appeasement' towards Pakistan. Nadda pointed out that the Congress-led UPA government, during its tenure from 2004 to 2014, failed to take substantial action against Pakistan despite repeated terror incidents.

In a special discussion in the Upper House on 'India's Strong, Successful, and Decisive Operation Sindoor in Response to the Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam', Nadda urged those questioning the current administration to reflect on their own past failures. He emphasized that the current government unanimously condemns the Pahalgam attack, noting the swift actions of leaders, such as the Home Minister being in Kashmir shortly after the attack and the Prime Minister ending his Saudi Arabia visit prematurely.

Nadda differentiated the present government's proactive approach from the past UPA's lackluster response to terror threats. He accused the Congress-led UPA of insensitivity due to their continued engagement in trade and talks with Pakistan while ignoring acts of terrorism. Nadda pointed out that efforts like India-Pakistan confidence-building measures were insufficient and symbolic of an ineffectual policy of appeasement.
