Fragile Truce Holds Amid Tensions Between Cambodia and Thailand
A tenuous ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand has persisted for another day, despite escalations and mutual accusations of violations. Both nations showcased the conflict zones to foreign observers to verify the ceasefire. At least 43 people died and over 300,000 were displaced in recent conflicts.

A fragile truce between Cambodia and Thailand held for an additional day, despite ongoing mutual accusations of ceasefire violations. On Wednesday, Cambodian authorities escorted military attaches and diplomats to a border checkpoint decimated by recent fighting, aiming to confirm the ongoing ceasefire.
Earlier, the Thai military accused Cambodian forces of breaching the truce at three separate frontier locations. While Cambodia's government denied these allegations, both sides had agreed in Malaysia to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire following intense fighting— the most severe between them in over a decade.
No heavy artillery exchanges have been reported since the truce began, but Thai and Cambodian troops remain stationed along the previously contested frontier. Recent hostilities left at least 43 people dead, mostly civilians, and displaced over 300,000 individuals.
