In response to recent fatal accidents involving government buildings, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has mandated immediate repairs and evaluations. Officials were instructed to compile district-wise reports of damaged structures and use disaster funds for necessary fixes.
A state-level committee is being formed to examine the construction quality of government buildings, schools, and anganwadi centres built over the previous six years. This initiative comes after tragic incidents in Jhalawar and Jaisalmer districts, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.
Special focus is being laid on buildings situated in rural areas. Additionally, anganwadi centres in unsafe conditions have already been relocated, and a comprehensive inspection process is underway. A budget of Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the 2025-26 fiscal year to repair 5,000 anganwadi centres, the Chief Minister announced.
