NIA Cracks Down on HuT Operatives: Unveiling a Terror Conspiracy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against three operatives of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT), a banned terrorist organization, accusing them of conspiring to propagate its extremist ideology and soliciting funds from foreign sources to support its activities, according to an official statement released on Friday.
Identified as Kabeer Ahmed Aliyar, Aziz Ahamed, and Bava Bahrudeen, the accused have been charged under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The NIA stated that they collaborated with HuT leaders to establish an Islamic Caliphate in India, seeking military assistance from forces antagonistic to the country.
Investigations disclosed plans to recruit susceptible youth and garner support from the Pakistan Army, utilizing 'Haj and Umrah travellers.' The accused also organised an exhibition showcasing the military strength of Islamic countries to incite overthrowing the Indian government through jihad, the NIA added.
