In a significant move to boost disaster preparedness, Haryana carried out a comprehensive multi-agency mock drill, 'Exercise Suraksha Chakra,' across five districts.
Coordinated by the Haryana Department of Revenue and Disaster Management with the National Disaster Management Authority, the drill assessed response mechanisms for natural and industrial disasters like earthquakes and chemical hazards.
The exercise engaged government bodies, medical services, and community volunteers such as the Haryana Home Guards and Red Cross, identifying logistical gaps to improve future readiness. Insights gained will be incorporated into tighter, tech-enhanced protocols, officials said.
