Rising concerns about public safety have surfaced in Delhi after a chain-snatching incident involving Congress MP Sudha from Tamil Nadu. The crime occurred during an early morning walk near Tamil Nadu Bhavan, where an unidentified motorcyclist snatched her gold chain and damaged her clothing before escaping.
Former Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi, expressed serious concerns about the safety of citizens, especially given that the incident took place in a VIP area under NDMC's jurisdiction. She emphasized the necessity for enhanced cooperation between law enforcement and civic bodies to ensure citizen safety.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj remarked on the prevalence of such crimes in Delhi, noting that incidents of chain and mobile snatching are so common that residents often refrain from filing police reports, expecting little action in response, and fearing wasted time.
