UP ATS Unveils Online Radicalisation Plot
Two men, one from Maharashtra, were arrested by Uttar Pradesh's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for attempts to disrupt communal harmony through online radicalisation. The suspects used social media to propagate anti-national ideologies and incite actions against the Indian government, aiming to establish a Sharia-based system.

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad has detained two individuals for allegedly attempting to disrupt communal harmony via online platforms. This includes one man from Maharashtra who used social media channels to promote anti-national sentiments.
Sustained digital surveillance by ATS revealed a WhatsApp group named 'Reviving Islam', largely consisting of Pakistani nationals. The group, managed by three administrators, included Ajmal Ali from western Uttar Pradesh, who allegedly propagated radical ideologies on social media.
Ajmal admitted to being influenced by Usama Maj Sheikh, from Maharashtra, aiming to overthrow India's elected government. Both men were charged under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
