Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has criticized the BJP for questioning his administration's performance, stating that his government's 'report card' will be presented after completing its five-year term. Abdullah's remarks came after visiting Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to assess the condition of the family of a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) affected by a fatal landslide in Reasi district.
The Chief Minister extended his sympathies to the SDM's family, who suffered injuries in the incident, while the SDM and his son lost their lives. Abdullah assured reporters that the government would facilitate all necessary medical care for the injured. Concurrently, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also visited the GMC to check on the well-being of the family members.
Abdullah rebuffed local BJP leaders' accusations of neglecting public issues, emphasizing that only nine months have passed since they took office, arguing that previous BJP administration's track record should be scrutinized instead. He urged completion of his government's term before drawing comparisons or conclusions about their efficacy.
