Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann revealed that the state's anti-drug initiative has entered its final phase, thanks to the establishment of defence committees in various villages and cities. Mann believes these committees will be pivotal in dismantling drug networks and preventing future trafficking incidents, securing Punjab's future generations.
Established on February 4, the 'War Against Drugs' campaign has made significant headway in eradicating drug problems in Punjab. With the backbone of the drug supply chain allegedly broken, Mann credits the enthusiastic support of the Punjab populace in this noble mission.
These committees, specifically curated from reputable locals, will facilitate communication with authorities, aiding in operations against drug activities. Additionally, the committees will focus on rehabilitation and reintegration of recovering addicts, with rewards and appreciation from the government for achieving drug-free status in any village or ward.
