Supreme Court Verdict Clears Way for 'Ungaludan Stalin' Initiative

In a landmark verdict, the Supreme Court overturned the Madras High Court's restriction on the use of Chief Minister M K Stalin's name in the 'Ungaludan Stalin' initiative. This decision represents a significant setback for the opposition AIADMK, according to DMK organising secretary R S Bharathi.

The court's ruling is seen as a blow to AIADMK's attempt to block the programme, which aims to ensure that government services reach citizens directly at their doorsteps. This contrasts with the previous AIADMK government's projects, many named after former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, which were allowed to proceed without legal challenge.

The DMK claims the ruling affirms their commitment to activism and service delivery, emphasizing continuity in public service initiatives. The Supreme Court not only dismissed the AIADMK's appeal but also imposed a Rs 10 lakh fine on the challenger, AIADMK MP C V Shanmugam, branding the plea as an abuse of legal process.
