In an alarming incident of racial discrimination, the Kolkata Arunachal Students Association (KASA) has taken a firm stand against a student of a private university in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district. The student allegedly made racist comments and harassed a hostel roommate hailing from Arunachal Pradesh.
The complaint, lodged with the Barasat police station, details how the accused circulated inappropriate content in a university WhatsApp group using the victim's phone without consent. KASA claims these actions were part of a pattern of racial comments and instigation directed at the victim's Arunachali background.
KASA demands legal action as the incident, which occurred on August 16, has inflicted severe mental agony and distress upon the victim, raising serious concerns over racial targeting within the institution.
