On Tuesday, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan informed the Jharkhand High Court that a special investigation team (SIT) would be formed to investigate the alleged question papers leak in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSCCGL) examination.

The court, led by Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rajesh Shankar, was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) by Prakash Kumar, who demanded a CBI probe into the matter. The commission initially conducted the JSSC CGL exam on January 28, 2024, but later canceled all papers due to the scandal.

Around 6.5 lakh candidates had applied for 2,025 government posts, causing a major uproar when the leak was revealed. Dissatisfied with the current investigation led by the CID, the court has requested a comprehensive report. The session will reconvene in two weeks to assess progress.
