BMC Debunks Fake Alert on School Closures Amid Rain Warnings

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) dismissed a viral social media message that falsely claimed schools and colleges in Mumbai would close on August 20 due to a 'red' rain alert.
The BMC clarified that it had not announced any such closures via its official channels.
While Raigad faces a 'red' alert, Mumbai has an 'orange' alert indicating heavy rain, but not the severe conditions suggested by the fake message.
