Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that Uttar Pradesh is grappling with a severe fertiliser shortage, attributing it to the ruling BJP government's inadequacies. His claims came alongside a 31-second video posted on social media, showing police personnel managing a crowd with batons.
The video, interpreted as evidence of police action against farmers in Ayodhya, has prompted District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde to clarify the situation. Funde emphasized that there was no lathi-charge, merely efforts to maintain order during a rush. He assured that the overall situation remained orderly and farmers experienced no major difficulties.
Funde also highlighted the government's efforts in ensuring a reliable supply of fertiliser in Ayodhya, stating that distribution for the year is already ahead of last year's records. With a token system and additional staff deployed, the administration is committed to alleviating farmer concerns and urged them to verify facts before believing rumors.
