India and Vietnam Coast Guards Unite for Maritime Security
The Indian and Vietnamese Coast Guards convened to bolster maritime search and rescue efforts, address marine pollution, and combat transnational maritime crimes. The summit reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation through joint operations, coordinated SAR missions, and exchanges to enhance regional maritime security and environmental protection.

In a pivotal meeting on Wednesday, the Indian and Vietnamese Coast Guards discussed strategies to intensify cooperation in maritime search and rescue operations and responses to marine pollution, spotlighting the challenge of transnational maritime crimes like trafficking and illegal fishing.
Held in Hanoi, this was the 6th High-Level gathering under the 2015 memorandum on Coast Guard Cooperation. The session was co-chaired by ICG's Additional Director General, Anand Prakash Badola, and VCG's Vice Commandant, Major General Vu Trung Kien.
Both sides reviewed previous collaborations and affirmed their commitment to regular joint ventures, underlining the importance of operational synergy in ensuring regional maritime safety, security, and environmental sustainability.
