NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar made a court appearance on Thursday in relation to the alleged Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank (MSCB) scam, contesting a 'bogus' chargesheet against him.
The MSCB money laundering case arose from a 2019 FIR by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police, accusing past officials of fraudulently selling cooperative sugar mills below market value. The court noted Pawar's alleged involvement in knowingly participating in this fraudulent activity.
Despite facing legal scrutiny, Pawar, backed by his legal team, disputes the chargesheet's authenticity, claiming the case against him lacks substance. The ensuing court date is set for October 8 as investigations continue.
