Farmers Rage Against Permanent Structures for Simhastha

The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) has staged protests in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, against the government's plan to acquire farmland for permanent structures for Simhastha 2028. Farmers are demanding the government revert to temporary arrangements used in past events.

Carrying damaged onions and soybeans, farmers expressed concerns over land acquisition threatening their livelihoods. They argue that temporary facilities are sufficient, proposing that farmers use the land in off-years for agriculture.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav defended the government's plan for a 'Global Spiritual City.' However, with Prime Minister Modi's visit imminent, the BKS has escalated their protest to gain national attention, warning they will disrupt milk and vegetable supplies if demands aren't met.
