The Government of India is set to unveil Special Campaign 5.0, a transformative initiative aimed at boosting cleanliness and addressing pending matters within government offices from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This campaign sees active participation from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and is spearheaded by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).
Building on the success of Special Campaign 4.0, the CBDT will enhance its clean-up efforts across 1,450 sites, reduce physical and electronic clutter, and continue its commitment to transparency through effective grievance redressal. Previously, the campaign cleared 220 tonnes of records, freed 1.75 lakh square feet of space, and resolved over 53,000 public grievances, exemplifying a significant step towards responsive governance.
Under Special Campaign 5.0, the CBDT plans to concentrate on disposing e-waste, optimizing office spaces, and streamlining grievance processes. These efforts align with India's digital transformation goals and underscore the government's dedication to institutionalizing cleanliness and enhancing citizen-centric services.
