A Kenyan court has brought charges against Feisal Mohamed Ali, a figure previously convicted of ivory smuggling, for allegedly trading two rhinoceros horns valued at 8.2 million Kenyan shillings ($63,000). The arrest took place in Mombasa and included his co-accused, Mohammed Hassan.

The pair, arrested last month, entered not guilty pleas concerning the dealing in trophies from endangered wildlife species. Feisal's earlier release on appeal in 2018, two years into his 20-year sentence, was based on procedural issues.

Authorities have implicated Ali as a key player in an international poaching network tied to an infamous seizure of tusks from over a hundred elephants.
