A special CBI court in Mumbai, on Tuesday, disclosed its verdict involving two individuals convicted for leaking examination papers for the Navy's lower division clerks recruitment. Among the convicted, a former Indian Navy officer was identified, highlighting the case's gravity.
Rambir Rawat, a coaching center owner, and former naval officer Ramesh Saini, faced charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and using forged documents. The court, emphasizing the serious repercussions of the crime, sentenced them to three years of rigorous imprisonment.
While the prosecution rested largely on circumstantial evidence, the court found the presented circumstances sufficient to establish the guilt of Rawat and Saini. However, the lack of conclusive evidence led to the acquittal of the other four accused.
