Tensions Rise As Naxalites Strike Again in Chhattisgarh
A 36-year-old man was brutally murdered by Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly being a police informer. This incident marks the 37th death due to Maoist violence in the Bastar region this year. Security forces are intensifying searches as Naxalites suggest a temporary ceasefire for peace talks.

A brutal attack by Naxalites claimed the life of a 36-year-old man in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, raising concerns over the escalating violence in the region. Authorities identified the victim as Dashru Ram Oyam, who was suspected of being a police informer.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday when a group of Naxalites invaded Oyam's home in Benchram village. The attackers dragged him outside and executed him using axes, following accusations of his alleged cooperation with law enforcement.
The violence has now resulted in 37 deaths in the Bastar region this year alone. In the wake of the murder, security forces have been deployed to track down the culprits, while the Naxalites, in an online statement, proposed a temporary suspension of armed conflict to facilitate peace negotiations, contingent upon a government ceasefire.
