Tensions Soar as Ukrainian Drones Hit Russian Oil Complex
Ukrainian drones have attacked the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil complex in Russia's Bashkortostan region, signaling intensified tension as Ukraine targets Russian oil and gas infrastructure. Regional head Radiy Khabirov reported no casualties and indicated that emergency services were handling the situation. The attack follows a previous incident in May 2024.

Two Ukrainian drones have targeted one of Russia's largest oil and petrochemical complexes, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, situated in the Bashkortostan region. The attack, reported by regional head Radiy Khabirov via Telegram, forms part of a series of intensified Ukrainian drone offensives aimed at Russian energy infrastructure.
Since early August, Ukraine's frustration with stalled peace talks, described by the Kremlin as paused, has prompted an increase in such attacks. Following the recent strike, emergency services have been deployed to assess and contain the damage, with no reported casualties, according to Khabirov.
This incident follows a similar drone attack by Ukraine in May 2024 and another recent strike on an oil refinery in Ufa, Bashkortostan's capital, highlighting ongoing regional tensions.
