U.S. Embassy Revokes Visas Amid Fentanyl Precursor Trafficking Charges
The U.S. embassy in New Delhi has revoked visas for some Indian business executives due to involvement in fentanyl precursor trafficking. While cooperation with Indian officials continues, India's foreign ministry has not commented. President Donald Trump has cited India among major drug-related nations despite efforts to counter trafficking.

The United States embassy in New Delhi has taken firm action by revoking visas for certain Indian business executives. This move is tied to their alleged involvement in the trafficking of fentanyl precursors, as announced in a recent embassy statement.
The precursors in question are critical chemicals in the production of fentanyl, which has been a major factor in overdose deaths in the United States. The statement, however, did not disclose the identities of the individuals affected but confirmed their status as Indian nationals.
Despite these visa revocations, the U.S. acknowledges significant cooperation from Indian government officials to combat drug trafficking. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has identified India among key countries associated with illicit drug production or transit, a list that may not fully reflect the efforts of each government in tackling this issue.
