A caretaker in Delhi's Paschim Vihar has been arrested for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery from her employer's residence, authorities announced on Thursday.
The complainant hired the woman on August 31 through an agency to care for her ailing mother. However, on September 4, the caretaker left under the pretext of purchasing food and did not return, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma.
The employer discovered Rs 10,000-15,000 in cash and two gold bangles missing. An FIR was lodged, and a police search led to the suspect's arrest at the Uttam Nagar Metro station. She allegedly confessed to spending the money and selling the jewellery. Investigations are continuing.
