The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended five individuals, including a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, in connection with alleged recruitment irregularities within the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) examinations during the earlier Congress administration, officials declared on Friday.

Jeevan Kishore Dhruv, an erstwhile IAS official, alongside his son and deputy collector Sumit Dhruv, Arti Wasnik, then Controller of Examinations, Misha Kosle, deputy collector and daughter-in-law of the CGPSC chairman's sibling, and Deepa Adil, a District Excise Officer related to the chairman's family, were detained on Thursday, CBI authorities reported.

The apprehended individuals appeared in Raipur's court as part of an ongoing investigation involving twelve arrests on charges of examination manipulation and favoritism during the 2020-2022 recruitment drive. The CGPSC's then-chairman and other officials allegedly facilitated the appointment of relatives by manipulating the exams and interviews, the investigation revealed.
