Russia Upholds Two-State Solution Amid International Palestinian Recognition

Russia has reiterated its support for a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict, as expressed by the Kremlin on Monday. This follows reactions from Western countries such as Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, all of which recognized a Palestinian state.

This diplomatic move was seen as a response to ongoing frustrations over the Gaza conflict, aimed at advancing a two-state solution. However, such recognition has met with a vehement backlash from Israel.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized Russia's continued commitment to the foundational resolutions of the UN Security Council. He asserted that the two-state approach remains the sole solution to the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is currently at an unprecedented level of severity and tragedy.
