Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Britain, Germany, and France of manipulating the situation, rendering the sanctions ineffective and without legal binding on other nations. Moscow continues to support Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology.
Following the reinstated sanctions, which include an arms embargo and restrictions on uranium activities, Tehran has threatened a severe retaliation. Russia, maintaining close ties with Iran, criticized prior actions by the U.S. and Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities.
