The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Rajpur police station in Dehradun, Shanky Kumar, has faced suspension following an alleged incident of reckless driving under the influence of alcohol. On a Wednesday night, Kumar purportedly collided with three vehicles one after another.
The disturbance caught the attention of nearby bystanders, who not only intervened but also recorded the event, which quickly escalated in visibility after being shared widely on social media platforms. Dehradun's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh was alerted to the viral video, prompting swift action against Kumar due to the inappropriate behavior documented.
The SSP sanctioned an immediate suspension and ordered a formal case against him for misconduct and vehicular damage. Concurrently, after a medical examination of all parties involved, Sub-inspector Deepak Dhariwal has been appointed as the new SHO for the Rajpur station.
