A police operation in Nuh district led to three more arrests connected to an attack on law enforcement, bringing the total to 16 apprehended suspects. The police spokesperson announced the latest developments on Thursday, shedding light on the continuing investigation.
During a raid last week, a police team targeted Azad's residence, suspecting involvement in a vehicle scam. Allegations included importing vehicles from Punjab, altering their identification numbers, and selling them illegally. The raid escalated into a conflict as the suspect fled, and bystanders lobbed stones at the officers. The confrontation included shots fired by the attackers, though no officers were injured.
Authorities identified and captured suspects Fakhruddin, Jahul, and Akhlaq with evidence gathered from video recordings. Akhlaq, who attempted to flee and fired at officers, was shot in the leg in a retaliatory action and received treatment at Nalhar Medical College. Police also recovered illegal items, including a country-made pistol and an unregistered motorcycle, as investigations continue.
