A cab driver has been apprehended in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a motorcycle rider in southwest Delhi's RK Puram, according to an official statement released on Friday.

Satyvir Singh, 29, from Haryana's Mahendragarh, was caught with the suspect vehicle showing signs of damage. The fatal accident occurred on September 13 near the Hyatt Regency, Bhikaji Cama Place, where Bijender Kumar Meena, 43, of Dausa, Rajasthan, was critically injured and later died at AIIMS Trauma Centre on September 16.

Police reports indicate Singh admitted to striking the motorcycle while transporting passengers from Anand Vihar to Gurugram and fleeing the scene in panic. Investigators faced challenges due to the absence of eyewitnesses and relied on technical surveillance, reviewing over 500 CCTV cameras across Delhi-NCR, including NHAI control room footage at NH-48 and Dwarka Expressway. A suspect vehicle, a white car, was identified through footage from key locations including Ring Road and Gurugram. Further inquiries are ongoing.
