India Challenges Pakistan's Human Rights Record at UN
India criticized Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council, highlighting its poor human rights record. India reproached Pakistan for bringing baseless allegations against it and pointed to Pakistan's state-sponsored persecution of minorities. At a United Nations Human Rights Council meeting, India sharply criticized Pakistan, accusing it of having one of the worst human rights records globally. India called on Pakistan to address its own issues of systemic discrimination against religious minorities.
During a General Debate in Geneva, India's representative K S Mohammed Hussain dismissed Pakistan's allegations concerning India, highlighting the irony of Pakistan's criticisms. He remarked that such accusations only reveal Islamabad's hypocrisy.
Hussain reiterated India's firm stance on the Kashmir issue, asserting its integral place within India. He also emphasized India's ongoing efforts to promote human rights and sustainable development, underscoring the principles of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action.
