Self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati was brought before a Delhi court following the conclusion of his five-day police custody.

Saraswati, who was apprehended in Agra on September 28, faces severe charges of sexually harassing 17 female students at a private institute.

Delhi Police have frozen assets worth Rs 8 crore linked to him, suspecting financial malpractices.

He is accused of forcing female students into inappropriate situations and sending them objectionable messages.

During the probe, it emerged that Saraswati operated multiple bank accounts using fake identities and siphoned off over Rs 50 lakh after the FIR was lodged.

Fake business cards associating him with the United Nations and BRICS were also seized.
