In a dramatic turn of events, two constables from the Ghaziabad police lines found themselves behind bars following a failed attempt to liberate inmates using counterfeit court orders. Authorities said on Monday that the constables, identified as Rahul and Sachin, attempted to exploit fake directives to release two prisoners from Dasna jail.

The alleged scheme, uncovered by Reserve Inspector Chandra Bhan Singh, involves the constables' unsuccessful bid to secure the release of Bijendra and Vansh, who are currently on trial for crimes including forgery and robbery. The constables, using a private vehicle, presented documents supposedly from the Gautam Buddh Nagar court, yet suspiciously sought only two of the six prisoners mentioned.

Upon verification, the orders were deemed illegitimate, leading to their arrest by the Kavinagar police. Official charges include criminal conspiracy, and a departmental inquiry aims to determine if financial incentives facilitated the plot, as stated by Assistant Commissioner Surya Bali Maurya.
