The Supreme Court dismissed Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan's plea for a probe against Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter, citing political battles should be fought before electorates. The Supreme Court dismissed a request from Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan to investigate Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter, Veena Vijayan, over alleged financial dealings. The court emphasized that political disputes should be resolved at the ballot box, not in judicial settings.
Previously, the Kerala High Court had rejected the plea about financial transactions between Vijayan's daughter's now-defunct IT firm and the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL). The plea was originally dismissed for being based on unproven facts.
Senior advocate Guru Krishna Kumar argued there were suspicions regarding a contract between CMRL and Exalogic Solutions, owned by Veena Vijayan. Despite these claims, the Supreme Court held firm on its stance, stressing the need to separate political battles from court matters.
