Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Sparks Reforms in Agriculture and Infrastructure

On Friday, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet announced a range of sweeping reforms aimed at bolstering the state's agricultural and infrastructure sectors. Among the key decisions was the creation of 1,000 new police constable positions, alongside enhanced minimum support prices for natural farming crops such as wheat and maize.

Significantly, the cabinet also approved the allocation of 71 small hydroelectric projects to independent power producers. Additional environmental efforts include the establishment of 500 assistant forest guard positions, with half of these reserved for Van Mitras.

In response to administrative challenges, the cabinet also supported measures to streamline the social security pension disbursement process and revised the fire no objection certificate process. Furthermore, the recruitment of retired faculty for medical colleges was approved to address chronic staff shortages.
