An employee from a powerloom unit in Maharashtra's Thane district has been accused of stealing raw materials worth Rs 21.89 lakh, police announced on Monday.
Following a complaint from the factory owner, Bhiwandi police registered a case against Ashish Singh, the supervisor, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Singh allegedly absconded with the materials on April 17, prompting a police investigation as search efforts for the accused continue.
