Fiery Turmoil on Rajdhani Express: No Casualties, Major Delays

A fire today disrupted the Rajdhani Express traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi, leaving no casualties but causing significant delays on the Delhi-Mumbai route. The incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh at around 5.15 am in the B-1 coach of train no. 12431, with 68 passengers promptly evacuated to safety.
Railway officials reported the fire damaged an additional luggage-cum-guard van, with immediate electric supply cutoff and successful dousing of the fire. The affected sections were detached, allowing the train to resume its journey after a delay, with plans to attach an additional coach en route to Kota.
The blaze caused disruptions, impacting up to six other trains. Railway authorities issued helpline numbers for passenger assistance while investigative efforts continue. Relief efforts, including a relief train and a tower wagon, were dispatched under the supervision of Ratlam Divisional Railway Manager Ajay Kumar Kalara.
