Supreme Court Permits Whistleblower to Seek Relief in High Court Against Contempt Proceedings

The Supreme Court has permitted whistleblower Ashutosh Dixit to approach the Madhya Pradesh High Court to seek a hearing in the ongoing criminal contempt proceedings against BJP MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak.
The bench, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, allowed Dixit to withdraw his plea and granted him the liberty to move the high court. The case stems from allegations of illegal mining by companies purportedly linked to Pathak. Matters escalated when Justice Vishal Mishra recused himself after the MLA allegedly contacted him regarding the case.
The Supreme Court emphasized the importance of following due legal process and cautioned against political motivations in court proceedings. The CJI remarked that the alleged actions, if true, need to be addressed legally.
