South Korea Rejects 'Absurd' Claims of Intelligence Leak

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has labeled claims as "absurd" which allege his minister revealed classified U.S. intelligence on North Korea's nuclear sites. Reports have surfaced suggesting the U.S. curtailed intelligence sharing, believing that Unification Minister Chung Dong-young leaked sensitive data.

Chung asserts his March comments, involving a nuclear facility in Kusong, relied solely on accessible data. President Lee reiterated through a post that the Kusong facility's existence was globally acknowledged. He plans to investigate why such an allegation arose.

The U.S. embassy in Seoul abstains from discussing diplomatic matters publicly, while Seoul's defense ministry confirms ongoing robust intelligence sharing. Despite claims of intelligence sharing reduction, the bilateral relationship remains strong.
