European Union envoys are preparing to enact the 20th round of sanctions against Russia as a response to the war in Ukraine. This move comes after diplomatic negotiations and recent developments in pipeline logistics.
The sanctions had been planned to coincide with the fourth anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The lack of unanimous agreement had previously stalled their implementation.
With the Ukrainian part of the Druzhba pipeline now repaired, Slovakia and Hungary are set to support the sanctions, enhancing EU's unified stance against Russia's ongoing aggression.
