Controversy at TCS: Legal Battles Loom Over Alleged Misconduct

A court in Maharashtra's Nashik has denied interim protection from arrest for a Tata Consultancy Services employee, Danish Shaikh, involved in a case linked to allegations of sexual harassment and forcible conversion at the IT firm's local unit.

Shaikh, a software professional aged 31, is currently in judicial custody following his arrest in connection with nine filed FIRs. His request for interim bail, related to a case at Mumbai Naka police, was declined by the court. They directed the prosecution to respond by April 27, although the defense urged for delay until the verdict on the main plea.

Shaikh has charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 75 and 299 for alleged acts of harassment and religious sentiment outrage. An ongoing investigation by a Special Investigation Team involves examining further allegations of exploitation and harassment within TCS, amid the company's zero-tolerance stance towards such misconduct.
