In a dramatic event, local law authorities and the State Disaster Response Force swiftly intervened to save a woman attempting to jump off a bridge into the Chenab River in Doda on Wednesday. The woman, identified as Fatima Begum of Chanderkote Tehsil, Ramban district, was stopped just in time.
Alert police personnel stationed at the bridge became suspicious upon noticing the woman, leading to a joint rescue effort with the SDRF. Their prompt action prevented a potential tragedy, ensuring her safety.
After being rescued, Fatima Begum was taken to the women's police station in Doda for counseling. Following necessary legalities, she was safely escorted back to her home.
