Decades-Old Mystery: Arrest in 1986 Murder Case

After 37 years, the Delhi Police have arrested an 82-year-old man, Chandra Shekhar Prasad, in connection to the murder of his wife in 1986. Prasad had lived under a false identity and evaded capture since the incident.

The case, originating from Shakarpur, East Delhi, involved Prasad allegedly killing his wife over suspicions of infidelity. Despite an FIR filed under IPC sections 302 and 34, Prasad managed to escape arrest and was declared an absconder by the court in 1987.

Police reopened the case using updated investigative methods, overcoming the challenge of missing digital and photographic evidence. Surveillance efforts and modern technology ultimately led to Prasad's capture in North Delhi, ending the decades-long mystery.
