Police Nab Impostor in Rs 1.8 Lakh Fraud Case

Haryana Police have detained an individual alleged to have defrauded Iqbal, a local resident, of Rs 1.8 lakh by masquerading as the driver of a Faridabad Sessions Judge. Officials confirmed Thursday that two individuals orchestrated the crime, promising legal aid and protection from arrest.

The primary suspect, Neyaz Mohammad from Babupur village in Gurugram, was apprehended on Wednesday, while his associate Imran remains at large. According to Iqbal's complaint, Mohammad, claiming high-profile connections, persuaded him to part with the sum for allegedly altering legal charges.

Despite assurances, no relief was provided, prompting Iqbal to demand his money back, of which only Rs 80,000 was returned. The threats of retaliation led to an FIR being filed at the Nuh Sadar police station. Police continue investigations to capture the absconding accomplice.
