Man Arrested in Connection with Flour Mill Murder in Maharashtra

A manhunt across state lines has culminated in the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect connected to a brutal murder at a flour mill in Maharashtra's Palghar district. Police seized the suspect, identified as Akash Kumar Ashok Kumar Gupta, from Uttar Pradesh.

Originally from Navi Mumbai, Gupta was tracked down in Paratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, with assistance from the local police, according to officials. The victim, Umesh Radheshyam Yadav, was found fatally attacked with a sharp weapon in Nalla Sopara on the night of April 18, leading authorities to launch a probe.

Senior Inspector Aviraj Kurhade confirmed that technical surveillance and local intelligence pinpointed Gupta as the prime suspect. Upon arrest, Gupta reportedly confessed to the crime, however, the motive remains under investigation as the accused and the victim were known to each other.
