Maharashtra minister Ganesh Naik recently chaired a crucial meeting to assess monsoon preparedness efforts in Navi Mumbai. The gathering took place at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, with key officials including Mayor Sujata Patil and Deputy Mayor Dashrath Bhagat in attendance.
Minister Naik issued directives to Navi Mumbai's civic administration, emphasizing the importance of ensuring citizens do not encounter hardships during the forthcoming monsoon season. He instructed departments to remain vigilant to prevent waterlogging in low-lying areas and to avoid flood-like situations during heavy rainfall.
The state forest minister and Airoli MLA, Naik, also highlighted the necessity for timely desilting and cleaning of rainwater channels. Furthermore, he addressed the critical need to repair exposed electrical systems to prevent loss of life and property during the monsoon.
